Album Info:Union Pacific Dallas-Fort Worth Service Unit Hearne Subdivision MP68.02 - Fire Station Road Easterly; Texas, USA 20 June 2016 - L-HA41 (Hearne Local) UP #1051 (ex-Southern Pacific) [EMD GP60] UP #1553 [EMD SD40N] So, after spotting what I would learn to be L-HEHE20 heading west through Jewett (I was stalking NUCOR hoping to catch the GE SL110 in action with my new super-telephoto), I decide to follow HEHE thinking he was going to Hearne Yard. I stopped once on a CR487 to get the UP loco leading (see adjacent album) then ran ahead to CPQ-077 where the Hearne SD changes from TWC to CWC, and was hoping for a shot with him splitting the signals. I staked out a spot in a bank parking lot, and waited. Nothing. See nothing. Hear nothing. Then I checked out the radio channel change sign at CPQ-077. east bound it showed 39 - 39 *64. So, I punched it up and caught L-HEHE asking for track warrant to head back east after picking up some empties at the Sanderson Farms feed silos in Easterly. For whatever reason, AAR 39-39 was not a frequency I had attributed to the Hearne Sub.. (Recent changes anyone?) I had 48-48 (Hearne to CPQ077) and 20-20 (CPQ077 to West Junction). Never the less, I tanked up with gas, and took off back east. I found him at Fire House Road just as the conductor was aligning the switch to take the main. It worked out for the better, because now the ex-EsPee unit was leading ~ and let the chase renew! © 2016 - Philip M. Goldstein
