Album Info:When the UP 1943 "Armed Forces Heritage Unit" ducked back into the Hearne Yard to drop the two tank cars being used at idlers, I saw a set of headlights pulling south into the yard. Ok, I thought; just another train. Nope, not just another train, but a special: DODX special of military equipment headed for overseas deployment from Beaumont, TX. It would have been a million dollar shot to catch UP 1943 and a Military Train in the same frame, but it was not to be. With many thanks to Andrew Aguilar, who furnished the symbol: S-FRBT-25 (special, Fort Riley, KS to Beaumont, TX). Fort Riley, KS is home to the 1st Infantry Division "The Big Red One", and this train is comprised of vehicles of the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team. God speed and safe travels troops!
