Album Info:No injuries to driver or train crew; which is good, because I know the engineer personally. At 10:54 CST, the H-TEAEGW 1-03A inadvertently struck a disabled three axle straight job truck. Initial report from the BNSF engineer, after train was stopped and emergency personnel arrived; is that the driver of the truck experienced frozen brakes after stopping for the Main St MP159.56 - Main Street crossing in Normangee. When the crossing warnings activated, driver jumped clear. It is 27 degrees, and we had hard freeze last night, so it is possible moisture in truck brake line froze (which as a CDL driver - you are supposed to evacuate or "blow down" your air storage tank for moisture.) Fortunately, this area of track also has a speed restriction on the this part of the line, and train was going about 15 mph. The truck was pushed approximately 800 feet south before the train was brought to a safe & complete stop just before the OSR grade crossing at MP159.36. Normangee VFD was toned out, with an initial report of a derailment. Fortunately, this was not the case. I heard it on the scanner, threw on long pants and a sweatshirt (it's 27 degrees as I write this) and made a bee line for the location. Lead locomotive 3973 had moderate damage to front pilot and steps.
